Leading the way
At Harbour Energy, we are excited to be leading this project together with non-operated partner bp, and working closely with our Cluster members to help the UK achieve net zero by capturing, transporting and storing CO₂ at scale, safely and cost-effectively. As the largest London-listed independent oil and gas company with significant positions in Norway, the UK, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, North Africa and South East Asia, we bring decades of experience and expertise to the project.
Through our legacy companies, we have operated in the Southern North Sea since 1960, including developing 38 platforms, installing 1,600km of pipeline, and drilling 145 wells. In particular, we have over 30 years of experience in building and operating the onshore terminal and offshore pipeline infrastructure for the Viking gas field, 140km out in the Southern North Sea.
It is this infrastructure, together with the now-depleted reservoirs of the Viking field, that form key parts of Viking CCS - our safe, cost-effective, high-volume CCS solution.
